Biography
Karla Hernandez is a Project Specialist at the Annenberg Inclusion Initiative, where she contributes to studies examining representation across film, television, and music. Born and raised in South Central Los Angeles, Karla brings with her a unique understanding and passion for serving and representing underserved communities. In 2019, she earned a BA in Communication from USC’s Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism where she was able to develop her data collection and communication skills. She has since worked on projects spanning from behind-the-scenes analyses of major studio releases to leading large-scale reports on diversity in popular music.
Outside of the office, Karla has a passion for animation and global pop culture and media and is often engaging in a fiber arts craft or reading a book.
